Joy Mazumdar is currently the VP of Product Management (Technical) for the Mining Equipment business at Wabtec Corporation. Mining Equipment provides electric-drive systems for mining trucks with manufacturing facilities in Erie, Pennsylvania and Fort Worth, Texas, as well as service shops around the world. Joy brings over 20 years of experience in the mining, renewable energy and smart infrastructure businesses. His work has involved electrification, digitalisation of surface mining equipment, integration of distributed energy assets and emissions reduction for off-road vehicles. Prior to joining Wabtec, he held roles in product management for mining trucks and leading the global mining truck business at Siemens. Joy is deeply committed to environmental sustainability and his focus is to accelerate adoption of decarbonising technologies, paving the way for a greener future. Joy has 14 US patents related to his work in the energy efficiency and propulsion space. He holds a PhD degree in Electrical Engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology, Atlanta and is an IEEE senior member.
