John Daniel is a Technical Advisor with Hitachi Energy’s Power Consulting in Raleigh, North Carolina. He has 32 years’ experience in the electrical power industry. The last 25 years, he has been with Hitachi/ABB in R&D, substation design, and utility and industrial consulting. He has supported numerous customers for the development of renewable energy locations and grid integration issues. With the rapid transition toward electrification in many industries, he has become increasingly involved in EV and mine electrification.

John began his career as a Facility Engineer for offshore oil production platforms in the Gulf of Mexico before entering the power and energy consulting space.
