Charl Marais is a control and simulation engineer with vast experience in power plant control systems and components. He has a B Eng. Electronic degree from the University of Pretoria, completed in 2004.
His work includes the development of automated translations tools, including the testing, debugging and coding of control blocks for industry leading control systems from GE, ABB, Siemens, Toshiba, Emerson and others.
He developed the standard control system solver in SimuPact, including advanced control system building blocks, links and sequences. He has also been involved in modelling of electrical networks and writing the code behind the SimGenics Electrical solver in the SimuPACT environment used for all of the SimGenics electrical network simulations.
He has been actively involved in control system computer simulation since 2006 and is passionate about all forms of full-scope computer simulation.
