Decarbonising mining: electrification opportunities in the journey to net zero - Grand Ballroom, Day 1, 14:30-15:00
Andy is the GM of Mining Decarbonisation & Commercial covering the APME region in the Shell’s Sectoral Decarbonisation & Innovation organisation. Andy and his team are responsible for driving decarbonisation pathways based on customers needs in the mining sector. He drives business development and commercialisation for various decarbonisation levers (such as low carbon fuels, electrification, CCUS, hydrogen, digitalisation and so on) across the value chain in different countries. Besides exploring for strategic partnerships, developing business models and structuring consortiums, Andy also originates demand, structures pilots and looks for co-investment opportunities.
Prior to this, Andy did a series of local, regional and global commercial roles in Shell (Upstream, Integrated Gas & Downstream) cutting across business planning, sales, marketing, contracting & procurement, supply chain management and new business development.
Andy holds an Honours Degree in Chemical Engineering from Monash University, and he completed the professional qualifications with the Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply where he is currently a member of the organisation (MCIPS). Andy is also passionate about people development, so he mentors individuals internally within Shell & externally.
